Pastor’s Thoughts June, 2026

As we move into June, the pace of life seems to change. School years come to an end, vaca
tions begin to appear on the calendar, gardens grow, and summer activities start to fill our
schedules. There is something about this season that reminds us to step outside, breathe deeply,
and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

Yet summer also brings a subtle challenge for believers. In the midst of travel, recreation, and
busy schedules, it becomes easy for our spiritual lives to drift into the background. We may un
intentionally begin treating our walk with Christ as something seasonal or occasional rather
than daily and foundational.

But following Jesus was never meant to be an occasional activity. Scripture reminds us:
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together…” Hebrews 10:24–25

The Christian life is lived together. We need worship together. We need prayer together. We
need encouragement together. We need the Word of God together. The church is not merely a
place we attend when convenient; it is a family to which we belong through Christ.

One of the great blessings of our church family is seeing how God continues to work among
us. We are thankful for those who have recently participated in our new members class, and we
are excited for the baptism planned in June 14. Moments like these remind us that God is still
drawing people to Himself and continuing His work in and through His church.

This month, I encourage you not to let summer become a season of spiritual distraction. In
stead, allow it to become a season of renewed gratitude and renewed commitment. Spend time
in prayer. Open God’s Word daily. Worship faithfully. Serve joyfully. Look for opportunities to
encourage others and share the hope of Christ.

Most importantly, remember that our relationship with God is not built upon duty alone, but
upon grace. Because the tomb is empty, we have life in Christ. Because Jesus lives, we can
walk daily with Him in confidence, peace, and hope.
May this summer be a season where we not only enjoy God’s blessings, but also grow deeper
in our love for Him and for one another.
