Pastor’s Thoughts for February, 2026

February often feels like a quiet month. Winter still lingers, the days are cold, and spring can seem far away. Yet even in this in-between season, God gives us reminders of hope if we’re paying attention.

At the heart of the month is Valentine’s Day, a time that draws our attention to love. Scripture reminds us that love is far more than a feeling or a moment on the calendar. “Let us love one another, for love comes from God” (1 John 4:7). Love is something we live out—through patience, kindness, forgiveness, and grace. February invites us to practice that kind of love, not just on February 14, but every day.

There’s also a quiet sense of anticipation in February. We may still be surrounded by winter, but we know change is coming. One familiar sign, at least for some of us, is the Daytona 500. When racing season begins in mid-February, it’s a reminder that winter is beginning to loosen its grip. Longer days are ahead. Warmer weather is coming. Spring is just around the corner.

Scripture often points us to this same truth: waiting seasons are not wasted seasons. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). God is always at work, even when we can’t yet see the full result. Just as the earth prepares quietly for spring, God is often preparing something new in our lives during times that feel slow or uncertain.
February stands between what has been and what will be. It reminds us to hold onto hope. “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23). Love, hope, and renewal are never far from God’s reach—even in the coldest months.

As we walk through February, may we love more intentionally, wait more faithfully, and trust more deeply. Spring is coming. God is faithful. And brighter days are already on the way.
