Where has the time gone? October is already half gone, and the holiday season is nearly upon us. Soon, 2022 will be gone and we will see 2023 unfold before us.
But wait: the days are here for us to enjoy, each in its own time. There is an old adage that says, paraphrasing, the past is gone, the future isn’t here yet, let’s live for today. The Bible teaches that same sense. We are here, now, for a purpose. And if we are regretting the past or worrying about the future we will lose the significance of today, and the purpose God has for us in it.
But, if we do lose the day, the Bible assures us that…his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23).
Let us, therefore, resolve to make the rest of today the day that we seek God and His purpose for us!
